Two young actors are killed on highway 10
Two young actors from Montreal found themselves caught in a tragic accident yesterday morning on highway 10 while on their way to a TV set in Montérégie. Vadim Schneider and Jaclyn Linetsky, two young teenagers aged 17, were in a mini-van driving in an eastern direction, towards Saint-Césaire. For a reason that is still unknown, the Chrysler Grand Caravan went off her original trajectory around 10:20 to go through the middle band of the highway to find herself in the wrong direction on highway 10 West. The loss of control happened at the weighing post for trucks in Brossard, at the 15th kilometer, about four kilometers east of highway 30. The driver of the vehicle, a 28 year-old man, hit the side of an articulate lorry truck going at its normal speed.
Truck on fire
“There was an impact in the gas tank of the truck which flamed up immediately”, said agent Ronald McInnis, spokesperson for Sûreté du Québec. Already greatly damaged by the collision, the victims’ mini-van kept going for another hundred meters, to the middle band of the highway, leaving behind pieces of his body. Vadim Schneider, a resident of the Outremont area, was thrown out of the vehicle and his death was not doubted. The other two passengers remained stuck in the destroyed mini-van. Driven to the Pierre-Boucher hospital, Jaclyn Linetsky didn’t survive.
Critical State
The only survivor was taken out of the vehicle thanks to the freeing pliers of the Longueuil firefighters. His condition was still critical in the evening. The driver of the flamed lorry was able to make it out of his truck before being greatly wounded. He only suffered minor injuries. The accident caused the closure of highway 3o West for many hours, which caused a long traffic jam. Circulation was deviated through the weighing post until the highway was reopened around 16:00. Accident technicians from Sûreté du Québec tried to rebuild the circumstances of the tragic accident. A distraction or discomfort could explain this accident.
The 15/Love actors are devastated
The actors of the TV show 15/Love were completely devastated yesterday when they heard about the deaths of their companions, Vadim Schneider and Jaclyn Linetsky. The news had the effect of a bomb on the team, who were in the process of filming the 11th episode of series containing 26, at the Collège de Saint-Césaire in Montérégie. The young actors were actually on their way to work when the accident happened. The people of the show were waiting for a psychologist to come help them overcome their sorrow. “There was a lot sadness, a lot of tears at Saint-Césaire today,” said the director of communications of Gala Films, Puelo Deir. “ The team was very close. They had rapidly become friends and spent a lot of time together.” Yesterday’s filming was cancelled, and Mr. Deir wasn’t able to say when the team would get back to work.
Caillou’s voice
Vadim Schneider and Jaclyn Linetsky were only acting the first important role of their careers. In 15/Love, they played two teenagers enrolled in a tennis academy who fell in love which each other. During an interview in July, they had told the Journal that they were “excited” about this new challenge. Jaclyn Linetsky was already known by small children for having been the English voice of Caillou between 2000 and 2002. Vadim Schneider, originally from France, had only been living in Québec for seven years. The victims’ families were still in shock when, yesterday evening, the Journal got in touch with them. “I have trouble realizing what is happening…” said Vadim’s father, Jean-Paul Schneider, before breaking down in tears.

About Jaclyn
Inquiry probes road deaths of teen actors
Actors Jaclyn Linetsky, the English voice of the popular television cartoon character Caillou, and Vadim Schneider, both 17, died tragically in a horrific road accident almost three years ago. Since then, Jaclyn's father has gone to great lengths to find out the circumstances of her death. "We didn't get any information whatsoever," said Larry Linetsky. The girl's father hired private investigators and pressed the Quebec coroner's office for an inquiry. "I was told there was a quarter of one per cent chance of getting an inquest," he said. Despite the daunting odds, Linetsky found himself in a Longueuil courtroom yesterday for the start of a public inquiry into his daughter and Vadim Schneider's deaths. The two actors, both 17, were being driven to St. Cesaire to the set of a new television program on Sept. 8, 2003, when their Dodge Grand Caravan veered off Highway 10 in Brossard as it travelled east and collided with a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lane. Outside the courtroom Linetsky said: "I know one thing: When (the inquest) ends we'll have more information than we had at the beginning." The inquiry is being held to determine the circumstances of the accident and potentially to make safety recommendations.
Caillou's "Voice" Dies
On Monday, an accident between a mini-van and a tractor trailer took the life of 17-year-old actress Jaclyn Linetsky, who provided the English voice of Caillou, a popular children's cartoon boy.
It's been reported that the mini-van driver, now in hospital in critical condition, lost control, crossed the highway median, and crashed into the other vehicle. The tractor trailer driver has minor injuries.
17-year old Vadim Schneider was also a passenger with Linetsky. They were being driven to the set of a new teen drama, in which both were appearing as regulars.

Fatal crash stills voice of Caillou
Seventeen-year-old Jaclyn Linetsky, the English-speaking voice of the children's cartoon character Caillou, was one of two young actors killed Monday when the minivan in which they were passengers struck a tractor-trailer. Linetsky was in the cast of recent episodes of Caillou, an animated show for young children that is produced in English and French by Montreal-based CINAR Animation. The crash occurred on Montreal's south shore. Linetsky, of suburban Hampstead, Quebec, was born in Montreal on January 8, 1986. Earlier this year, she replaced Colleen O'Shaughnessey as the voice of Lori in the Ciné-Groupe animated series What's with Andy?, which has aired on Teletoon in Canada and on ABC Family and the Fox Family Channel in the United States. She also provided the voice of Bitzi in the 2002 Cine-Groupe series Daft Planet, aired on Teletoon, and the 1999-2001 series Mega Babies (produced by Cine-Group in collaboration with Sony Wonder), which was broadcast on Teletoon and Fox Family. Also killed in the accident was actor Vadim Schneider, also 17. He and Linetsky had both been before the cameras for the planned Canadian-French live-action tween drama series 15/Love. Filming had been scheduled to continue in St. Cesaire, Quebec until November 24 for the series of 26 half-hour episodes, which had been slated for broadcast next year on YTV, Radio-Canada and France 2. Another teen was reported in critical condition. "There was a minivan that was going on the eastbound Highway 10. For some reason we don't know, the driver lost control and crossed the median and hit a truck, a 45-foot van," said Quebec provincial police spokesman Ronald McInnis. The minivan then burst into flames, McInnis said. Linetsky and Schneider, had just come back from working on a feature film and were on their way to work on a TV series when the accident happened, Montreal radio station CJAD reported. It was not immediately apparent if 15/Love was the series. Linetsky was a special girl and a beautiful spirit to work with in the studio, Andrew Gryn, a former talent coordinator with CINAR, told the radio station. "She still was a [summer] camp counsellor. Her mom said that when the kids found out she did the voice of Caillou, they wouldn't let go of her," said Gryn, who worked with Linetsky at the studio. "All the young tots were just after her, and it was a blessing for her. She just kept giving."

MONTREAL -- Two young actors, including a 17-year-old who was a voice of the children's cartoon character Caillou, were killed in an accident Monday when the minivan they were riding in hit a tractor trailer.
Jaclyn Linetsky performed the English-speaking voice of Caillou in the animated children's series for two years until January 2002. Montreal actor Vadim Schneider, 17, also was killed in the crash on Montreal's south shore. Another teen was in critical condition.
"There was a minivan that was going on the eastbound Highway 10," said Ronald Mc Innis, a spokesman for Quebec provincial police.
"For some reason we don't know, the driver lost control and crossed the median and hit a truck, a 45-foot van."
The minivan then burst into flames.
Caillou is a popular animated show for young children that's produced in English and French by the Montreal-based film company Cinar.
Cinar president and CEO Stuart Snyder expressed his sympathies to Linetsky's family.
"Jaclyn's voice enchanted thousands of children and viewers and she brought her own special personality and character to Caillou," Snyder said in a statement.
"She was a very talented performer and will be deeply missed by us all."
Andrew Gryn, a former talent co-ordinator with Cinar, told CJAD Radio that Linetsky was a special girl.
"She still was a (summer) camp counsellor," said Gryn. "Her mom said that when the kids found out she did the voice of Caillou they wouldn't let go of her. All the young tots were just after her and it was a blessing for her. She just kept giving."
Young Jewish actress meets tragic end

MONTREAL — A year ago, life could not have been much better for Jaclyn Linetsky. The beautiful young Jewish actress from the Montreal suburb of Hampstead had just scored a starring role in a new YTV tween comedy-drama 15/Love.
Filmed in Québec’s picturesque Eastern Townships, this impressive Canadian series follows the hotheaded drama and sometimes hilarious antics of gifted young athletes who laugh, love, cry and dream their way through adolescence at the internationally renowned Cascadia Tennis Academy. But tennis is often just the backdrop to the real stories that take place courtside — in the dorms, and in the locker rooms. Through it all, the students bond over illegal birthday bashes, curfew-busting excursions, contraband junk food and tough competition.
Linetsky portrays type ‘A’ overachiever Megan O’Connor. In the first 11 episodes, she stands out as one of the show’s true stars. However, as she and fellow cast member Vadim Schneider were being driven to the set one fall day a year ago the vehicle went out of control. Both teenagers were killed.
Gala Films, which is co-producing the series, immediately shut down production. When they finally met with the grieving Linetsky and Schneider families, it was agreed to write their tragic deaths into the script for episodes 13 and 14.
The show debuts on YTV Monday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. It will continue to air every Monday at the same time., with repeat airings Wednesdays at 9.30 p.m. and Sundays at 6.30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
“ We were very careful in how we approached the publicity of the series,” says Lindsay Smith of Corus Entertainment, owners of YTV. “ We did not want to mention the tragedy in the press materials for the show launch because we didn’t want to capitalize on the loss of these two actors. It is something I discuss verbally with the press. We will be doing some special publicity around the transitional episodes, 13 and 14, which air in 2005, where we will recognize the tragedy in the press materials, and pay tribute to Jaclyn and Vadim.”
Linetsky was already a sought-after actress with a specialization in voiceovers when she joined the cast of 15/Love. Universally adored as the English voice of cartoon character Caillou, she also had legions of fans for her voiceover work on numerous shows, including Kit and Kaboodle, Mega Babies, Tommy and Oscar, Kids from Room 402, Daft Planet, What’s With Andy? And Sagwa. She also had a part in the motion picture Kart Racer, starring Randy Quaid. Getting her start on stage at the age of eight, she began doing voiceovers when she was 11 in a radio milk ad. She later starred in a string of radio and TV commercials. Affectionately known as Muffin to her family and friends, she starred in many school productions at St. Georges High School.
Another Jewish member of the cast is Ottawa’s Kyle Switzerm who plays campus newspaper editor Rick Geddes.
“15/Love is a unique concept about kids who are friends but also competitors, and are learning how to deal with the pressures of the adult world,” said Bonita Siegel, director of original productions for children’s television. “With strong characters and storylines, and intelligent and humourous writing that will appeal to both kids and adults, 15/Love represents a new level of high-calibre production being created in Canada.”
In the premiere episode of 15/Love, a new year of Cascadia begins with a Survivor-style boys versus girls tournament to determine who gets the best dorm rooms, while Cody, the school’s newest member, discovers her role as the academy’s scribe and shutterbug. As an outsider, she is quick to jump to the conclusion that the students are all wealthy, arrogant jocks, but she soon realizes there is more to her new peers than meets the eye.
1,500 gather at funeral of teen voice actor
Sep 11, 2003
Jaclyn Linetsky, the 17-year-old girl who provided the English-speaking voice of Caillou in the popular children's TV cartoon show of the same name, was remembered fondly at her funeral service Wednesday.
Over 1,500 people crowded into Paperman and Sons funeral home in Montreal for a private ceremony, which lasted over an hour.
Linetsky, of suburban Hampstead, and French-born Vadim Schneider, also 17, died in a car accident Monday morning near Montreal. They were on their way to film a television show called 15/Love when their rental minivan spun out of control and into oncoming traffic.
Linetsky graduated this year from St. George's High School, where she was the valedictorian.
The funeral home was over capacity. People spilled out onto the front walk as Hebrew hymns, eulogies and tributes were offered.
"It is the largest funeral I've ever seen. It was just tragic and emotional and heartbreaking," said Debbie Scott, a friend of the Linetsky family.
Those who spoke included Linetsky's brother, brother-in-law and her best friend. They spoke about her glowing personality and enthusiastic approach to life, saying that this would allow her spirit to survive her."
[Jaclyn] was a very sweet, wonderful child, good-hearted and charming. She loved people, and she made everyone feel like they were important," Scott said after the funeral.
Schneider's family was also present. At the end of Linetsky's funeral, mourners paid their respects to Schneider family members.
"She would light up the room," recalled Montreal-based actress Pauline Little, who worked with Linetsky on Caillou. Linetsky skillfully managed to make the title character "sweet without being sickeningly sweet," Little said.
Andrew Gryn, who worked with Linetsky while he was talent coordinator at Cinar, said that she was "stellar right from the top," adding: "There was no prima donna to her."
School arts program to be renamed for Jaclyn Linetsky
Thursday, 05 February 2009
MONTREAL — It was fall, almost 5-1/2 years ago, when Larry Linetsky rushed home to Hampstead to find several Sûreté du Québec squad cars parked outside.
Jaclyn Linetsky
He was told on that day, Sept. 8, 2003, that his beloved 17-year-old daughter, Jaclyn, was dead.
Beautiful, vital, bright and effervescent, Jaclyn was a rising television star. She was also known for being the English-language voice of the popular children’s television cartoon character Caillou.
Jaclyn and her co-star in the cartoon series, Vadim Schneider, also 17, were killed on Highway 10 when the van they were riding in, on its way to a shoot of the YTV television series 15/Love that they co-starred in, lost control, crossed the median and slammed into an oncoming vehicle.
Since that devastating day, the Linetsky family – including Linetsky’s wife, Terry, and his other children, Derek and Kelly – has continued its struggle to find some sort of meaning or greater purpose out of what has seemed so utterly senseless.
But one way Linetsky said the family will keep Jaclyn’s memory alive is through a foundation he launched and a special fundraising evening on April 23, dedicated to Jaclyn’s memory and celebrating the fact that the performing arts program at the school she graduated from only months before her death – St. George’s School of Montreal – will be renamed the Jaclyn Linetsky Performing Arts Program.
“It’s a way to keep her name alive,” said Linetsky. “We already give a scholarship every year at the school, but we wanted something with Jaclyn’s name on it.
“I looked around at a lot of places to attach Jaclyn’s name to, but renaming the performing arts program she was a part of, at the school she went, to seemed a more perfect fit.”
Funds raised through the rededication event – called A Night of Stars and being held at the Just for Laughs Museum – will be used for a variety of St. George’s drama program endeavours, including as subsidies for students who want to attend the school summer camp.
Linetsky, who heads an organizing committee of about 20 people, has sent out scores of letters to potential participants, ranging from friends and relatives of Jaclyn’s to possible corporate sponsors. Support is coming through donations to the school or advertising in a program book being put together for the occasion.
Already confirmed to participate at the event, to be hosted by radio personality Orla Johannes, are singer Sharon Azrieli and CFOX DJ Dean Hagopian. Two of the city’s hottest young singers may also perform, providing they’re not have other engagements, Linetsky said.
Linetsky said that the event – bitter-sweet as it will inevitably be – will also likely mark a type of closure to a continuing series of activities he has immersed himself in since Jaclyn’s death, in part as a coping mechanism.
About a year after that horrible day, Linetsky went on an already-planned trip almost to the base of Mount Everest, where a “reincarnation Dalai Lama,” upon hearing of the tragedy, wrapped a “holy scarf” around a plasticized photograph of Jaclyn Linetsky had brought with him. “I still have it,” he said.
That was followed by an excruciating Quebec coroner’s inquiry – lobbied for by Linetsky – to establish the facts about the fatal accident. The coroner concluded that the driver of the van lost control because gravel was not placed on the left shoulder to level off a drop- off that had occurred due to the highway being resurfaced. The vehicle lost control after it veered slightly onto the shoulder.
Linetsky said even though the law required that gravel be placed on the shoulder within a few days of resurfacing, it was not done. There was a measure of solace, he said, in the fact that the coroner told the family that Jaclyn in all probability died instantly.
Now, Linetsky said, each family member is still seeking, each day, to come to terms with Jaclyn’s death. Some family members, he said, are faring better than others, but “whatever they tell you, it doesn’t get easier, it gets harder.” Holidays, family events and birthdays are all constant, regular reminders of their loss.
“To this day, we don’t talk about it when we’re together,” Linetsky said. “But you have to decide whether to sink or swim, so I decided to swim.”

ANN CARROLL, The Gazette
Published: Wednesday, November 22, 2006
Linetsky, the former English voice of children's cartoon character Caillou, and Schneider - both 17 - died almost instantly.
Their driver, Frederic Jougla, and trucker Joel Bayard suffered severe injuries in the spectacular crash on Sept. 8, 2003.
The fatal accident should be a wake-up call to drivers and transportation officials to watch out for potentially hazardous pavement dropoffs, a coroner says.
"In such circumstances, even a very experienced driver could probably not have kept the vehicle under control and regained the traffic lane safely," coroner Andree Kronstrom said yesterday at a news conference.
Jougla testified he was driving Linetsky and Schneider to the set of a new YTV television series, 15/Love, in St. Cesaire, about 60 kilometres southeast of Montreal, at the time of the accident. He said he had no memory of the crash.
Whether from inattention or an effort to avoid another car, Jougla's swerve onto the lower pavement resulted in two preventable deaths, the coroner said.
Among her recommendations to the Transport Department:
- Lower speed limits and post warning signs on newly paved roads with pavement dropoffs.
- Study the possibility of adding rumble strips - notches cut into the surface - on paved shoulders.
- Conduct a public-awareness campaign about the risks posed by dropoffs.
Linetsky's parents, who had lobbied hard for the inquest, said they welcomed the recommendations.
"Nothing will bring our daughter back, but this emphasis on prevention is important," said Larry Linetsky, who attended the news conference with his wife and their two children.

Driver tells inquiry he has amnesia
Rejects theory he was asleep at the wheel when teen actors were killed in accident
The driver of a minivan that veered off a highway in Brossard testified at a coroner's inquest yesterday he has no memory of the accident that killed two teenage actors in 2003.
The van driven by Frederic Jougla crossed the Highway 10 median and collided with a tractor-trailer in the westbound lane.
Jaclyn Linetsky, the former English voice of the cartoon character Caillou, and Vadim Schneider died in the crash.
Jougla was driving the two 17-year-olds to the set of a television production in St. Cesaire.
He told the inquest he first picked up Schneider and then Linetsky on Sept. 8. "I remember being at Jaclyn's place and letting her in (the van), Jougla said.
But he doesn't have any clear memories after that, Jougla said. The next thing he recalls is being in the hospital, he said.
The coroner's inquiry is looking into the circumstances of the teens' death and may come up with safety recommendations.
As a driver for the television production, Jougla had two vehicles at his disposal: a minivan and a 15-seat vehicle. The day of the accident, Jougla said, he got up at 5 a.m. and made a trip to
St. Cesaire before returning to Montreal to collect Schneider and Linetsky.
Jougla had just had three days off. He said he had slept seven hours the night before.
An investigator's report had raised the possibility Jougla became drowsy or fell asleep at the wheel of the minivan. But Jougla rejected that theory when coroner Andree Kronstrom raised it yesterday. "No, I was feeling fine that day," he said.
Denis Cecil was travelling a short distance behind the minivan when he noticed a slight hesitation by vehicles ahead of him.
After the accident, Cecil pulled over and went to the scene. "I thought he was dead," Cecil said of Jougla. The driver started groaning but didn't utter a word, Cecil said. It was almost a miracle someone was alive, Cecil said.
Jougla now works as a driver for Canada Post. He holds several classes of driver's licences, which allow him to drive a minibus, among other vehicles.
Jougla provided details of four traffic tickets he received in the past - three of them for speeding. (A police officer testified Monday there was no indication the minivan was travelling at excessive speed.) Jougla said he once had a fender-bender while working but hasn't had any personal accident claims with his own vehicle.
Inquiry probes road deaths of teen actors
Father pushed for coroner's inquest; Jaclyn Linetsky and Vadim Schneider, both 17, died in accident on Highway 10 in Brossard
The GazettePublished: Tuesday, February 28 2006
After Jaclyn Linetsky died tragically in a horrific road accident almost three years ago, her father went to great lengths to find out the circumstances of her death.
"We didn't get any information whatsoever," said Larry Linetsky, whose daughter was once the English voice of the popular television cartoon character Caillou.
The girl's father hired private investigators and pressed the Quebec coroner's office for an inquiry. "I was told there was a quarter of one per cent chance of getting an inquest," he said.
Terry Linetsky spoke to Frederik Jougla - the driver at the wheel of a van carrying her daughter, Jaclyn, and another teen when they were killed on Sept. 8, 2003 - for the first time yesterday.
Surete du Quebec Constable Bernard Ouellet, who specializes in accident reconstruction, used a diagram and toy model vehicles to illustrate how the accident unfolded.
The two left wheels of the minivan carrying the teenage actors veered into the grass median, causing the first skid, Ouellet said.
The van went back into its lane but driver Frederik Jougla over-corrected, Ouellet speculated, causing the vehicle to skid again. The driver lost control and veered off the road to the left, sliding sideways across the median, Ouellet said.
Ouellet said he saw no signs of braking. There was also no indication the minivan was travelling at excessive speed, he said. Witnesses said the van was travelling about 110 kilometres an hour. The speed limit on the highway is 100 kilometres an hour.
"When I saw him he was coming out of the median," said Joel Bayard, who was driving the tractor-trailer in the westbound lane. Bayard made the remark in response to a question by Linetsky. As an "interested person" at the inquiry, Linetsky is allowed to ask questions.
Bayard said he visited Jougla in the hospital three days after the accident. When Linetsky asked the trucker if Jougla had told him he fell asleep at the wheel of the minivan, however, coroner Andree Kronstrom intervened. She told Linetsky the best witness to answer that question is Jougla, who is scheduled to testify before the inquiry today.
Jougla was in the courtroom yesterday with his lawyer.
Bayard testified that he tried to brake upon impact. He was injured in the crash and spent nine months off work.
Pictures of the mangled van were shown during Suzanne Tylko's analysis of the accident. Tylko is a mechanical engineer who heads a Transport Canada division that does crashworthiness research. She said the truck sideswiped the minivan, then hit its wheel well, causing the van to spin with tremendous force.
The eastbound lane of Highway 10 had recently been paved and the weather was sunny that day, the inquiry heard. Ouellet also testified that neither vehicle involved in the crash appeared to have had mechanical problems.
Outside the courtroom Linetsky said: "I know one thing: When (the inquest) ends we'll have more information than we had at the beginning."
The inquiry is being held to determine the circumstances of the accident and potentially to make safety recommendations.

REPORT Of INVESTIGATION INTO the DEATHS OF MRS. JACLYN LINETSKY AND Mr. VADIM SCHNEIDER - UNEVENNESS IN EDGE OF the ROAD: POTENTIAL DANGER TO THE MOTORISTS
QUEBEC, on Nov 21 /CNW Telbec/- Deposit of the report of investigation of coroner Me Andree Kronstrvm following the public audiences held for to clear up the causes and the circumstances of the deaths of Mrs. Jaclyn Linetsky and Mr. Vadim Schneider. Two the 17 year old young people lost the life on September 8, 2003 following a traffic accident on motorway 10, in Longueuil.
Circumstances of the accident
Mrs. Jaclyn Linetsky and Mr. Vadim Schneider are two actors who hold of the principal roles in a telesery for the young people. Like turning has place outside Montreal, the company of production ensures their transport. The morning of September 8, 2003, Mrs. Linetsky and Mr. Schneider take seat on board Dodge Caravan. Towards 10 a.m., the driver borrows motorway 10 in direction is, to deposit its passengers with Saint-Césaire. Arrived at the kilometer 16,1, it circulates on the way of left of the coldly asphalted motorway, at a speed of approximately 110 km/h. According to the investigation, it is at this time that the vehicle deviates of its way towards the left and leaves the asphalted part of the verge to encroach on the central reservation. The driver then directs its wheel towards the line to return on its way. By regaining the asphalted verge, the driver again tries to correct the trajectory of the vehicle while contrebraquant towards the left. The vehicle moves then towards the quay level, in skid, to find itself in the way in opposite direction where it is struck by a semitrailer. The sudden driver of the wounds and the two young people die on the spot of the accident.
Was the accident avoidable?
The stakes of this investigation consisted in including/understanding what was passed while answering three questions: why the driver did deviate of its way, why it lost the control of the vehicle and why the accident it was fatal for the two passengers? After having understood that the accident was fatal for the two passengers because of the force of the impact and the place which they occupied in the vehicle, the coroner concentrated on the factors which contributed to the accident, that is to say the personal elements and environmental. By peeling them three first second of the accident, the investigation made it possible to determine that the vehicle had deviated of its way following one moment of hypovigilance of the driver or following an operation to avoid another vehicle. The driver then lost the control of the vehicle primarily because of the passage repeated of the wheels on a continuous unevenness of approximately 76 mm or 3 inches between the part coldly asphalted of the verge of left and the quay level. The investigation showed that in such circumstances, even an extremely tested driver could probably not have preserved the control of the vehicle and have reinstated in a sedentary way the lane. According to the coroner, the unevenness is one of the factors which contributed to the accident. However, this unevenness is the element determining of the loss of control of the vehicle.
Are preventive measures they possible?
According to coroner Kronstrvm, since they are deaths which could have been avoided, of the preventive measures must be considered. It thus retained certain tracks of solutions which were discussed with speakers aimed at the time of the public audiences. One of these solutions consists in making the promotion of vigilance in order to prevent or to decrease the frequency of the exits of road. The drivers of vehicles would have inter alia being sensitized with the dangers associated with the continuous presence with a unevenness. Moreover, since the investigation has shown that the unevenness between the asphalted verge and the quay level is an alarming factor, the coroner wish that the ministry for Transport of Quebec quickly documents this situation still ignored in Quebec. The presence of such made uneven, created during work of asphalting, thus represents a real danger. In order to increase the safety of the road users, of the provisional measures should also be taken to fill the unevenness quickly and to indicate the presence of danger.

IN MEMORIAM:
When all the sun shines down on you
Everyone's a lie but you're so true
You're symphonic, you're the light of the moon
How could I forget you?
You're a star, a dream that never ends, fireworks around the bend
An angel on the river Thames
You must know you're all the lights on new years eve
Quiet on the raging sea
How could I forget you?

les dénivelés entre l'accotement et le terre-plein sont rapidement comblés;
analyser la possibilité de mettre des bandes rugueuses à gauche sur les accotements asphaltés;

Communiqué c7089: RAPPORT D'ENQUÊTE SUR LES DÉCÈS DE MME JACLYN LINETSKY ET DE M. VADIM SCHNEIDER - DÉNIVELLATION EN BORDURE DE LA ROUTE : DANGER POTENTIEL POUR LES AUTOMOBILISTES
- documente le phénomène de l'hypovigilance au volant;
- travaille à la promotion constante de la vigilance au volant;
dangers liés à la présence d'une dénivellation;
est dépourvue;
et le terrain naturel n'ont pas été comblées;
aux abords des routes;
rapidement possible;
conséquence;
